Do Not Allow Fear to Steal Excitement

Fear is a thief. Yes, coming out the gate with a straightforward statement because let’s simply call fear what it is. Fear parades around too long within us and it does not help that it is watered in a multitude of ways (i.e., by consuming news, social media, peer influence, etc.). Fear will surely steal everything if you allow it to, allow being the operative word. You actually hold the real power over fear and it only appears that fear holds the power over you because you are giving it permission. Permission to steal your joy, hope, courage, willingness to move forward or let something go, and for the sake of this post - your excitement. How many times have you gotten excited about something only for doubt and fear to steal it. You start to feel an amount of joy surrounding the new endeavor or something you have prayed or worked hard for, only for a fearful thought to rise up. It starts with one thought then it begins to take root as it is watered by ruminating on it; which can then cause you to act on the fear.

We are humans wonderfully created with a nervous system that is meant to do its job properly. However, it is paramount to learn healthy and productive ways to work with your nervous system, not against it. Note, please consult a certified wellness professional for help with this. We have a wealth of experiences stored in our minds, bodies, and souls. Naturally when something triggers a certain nervous system response, in this instance fear, it can cause us to lose our excitement for something and instead give into the fear. The purpose of this post is to encourage you to get your excitement back, your zest and zeal for the things you desire, and your hope for the good things life has on the way to you. You can feel the fear, acknowledge that it is natural, but then leave it at that so that it does not go as far as stealing the joy of your moments. Excitement gives us something to look forward to, grants us the opportunity to bask in and share in joy with others, and to feel alive - not just like we are existing. By allowing fear to steal your excitement, you are giving over a precious part of your human experience. That is to feel excited. Excited about yourself, your life, your future, and overall the desires of your heart. Here’s to no longer allowing fear to be a thief in your life!
