What Are the Cares on Your Heart?

Lately, the cares on my heart have been resounding deeply within me. To the point, I have to be diligent about casting them onto God and tending to them with gentleness. They have been loud not only in terms of internal dialogue, but also emotional resonance. I have always had clarity about what and who matters the most to me. With that comes a deep connection to those things and an intentional effort to steward them with a high-level of care. I find it helpful to pause and reflect on why a particular care may be stirring within me, what is it calling me to do, who or what is impacted by the care, and why is it a deep care in the first place. That helps me move through the emotions welling up inside of me and then the best part is that the rest is up to God. My emotional, mental, and spiritual capacity would suffer if I were to carry the cares on my heart with such depth without surrendering them to God.

Check in with yourself, ask yourself what are the cares that have been on your heart lately. Trust that they have been placed on your heart for a reason. Push yourself to get clear on what the care is, why it matters, and what action it is calling you to. The action may be a call to go to your secret place and pray, to serve someone who is in need, to make something happen, to move in a certain direction, and/or to simply surrender it to God. If you get still and listen closely, the answer will come to you. We are beautifully designed humans - built with an innate ability to feel, to care, to decide, and to act. When the cares on your heart seem to be loud and constantly nudging you, believe that God is calling you to something. It is what I choose to believe, so I plan to water my cares by seeking God for direction and taking the proper action.
