Step Back

When you find yourself in certain circumstances or experiences that are consuming you beyond your natural capacity then the next best thing is to step back. Step back to pray and release whatever it is to God Almighty, so that He can divinely intervene. Step back to refresh yourself and recalibrate instead of continuing to spin your wheels. Step back completely to put it to rest because you realized that it is simply not working. We have agency to decide when we have reached our limit with something, especially after we have done all we can to effect change but the needle has not moved yet. We can exhaust ourselves if we are not careful to pay attention to when something is attempting to draw us back into old patterns, constantly draining our energy, or causing ruminating thoughts.

Pause and reflect on the circumstances repeating in your life that are depleting you or causing a great amount of friction. Honestly review how you have contributed to flaming those circumstances and if it is worth continuing to do so. If yes, then consider how you might shift your approach to garner new results and positively move things forward. If not, then make a plan to step back and let it breathe. This gives you fresh eyes to see the circumstances from a different point of view. This will enable you to widen your scope of decisions available to you, so that you can make the wisest decision that will empower you most. It is worth reminding you that stepping back is not giving up nor is it quitting. Stepping back is the simple power move that you can leverage to pause, breathe, and make a self-honoring decision.

Joy Gem: “A retreat from someone or something isn't unusual. Just as you edge closer to see better, at times you may need to take a step back to get a clearer view.” - Rajuda
