Mid-Year Reflection
January through June marks the first half of 2026 and personally this sparks a point of reflection. Reflection on what happened in each month and lessons learned, but also a deep dive into mindfully prioritizing my focus for the second half of the year. The purpose of this post is to encourage you to do the same. Before you start the reflection process, cozy up in a quiet spot and completely decompress to ground yourself. Deep breathing, shaking or stretching to settle your nervous system, and prayer to invite God into the space to ignite revelation. Allow yourself to freely reflect and not in a prescriptive way.
Simply go month by month and either describe it in 2-3 words or write a one sentence headliner. After the headliner, ask yourself what was the key lesson from the month and the wisdom that you gleaned from it. You are encouraged to trust what first comes to mind and go with it. This is you in an uninterrupted flow with the freedom to express yourself without guardrails. Sit back and digest what you wrote before moving into outlining what you would like to focus on for the rest of the year. It is completely up to you whether or not you want to make an ambitious list or a concise list based on your capacity. Sometimes the power is in editing down rather than putting too much on our plate for the sake of trying to achieve a long list of things that could potentially lead to burnout. If you want the rest of your year to be focused on playfulness, outline what that looks like and how you will incorporate it more. If you want the rest of your year to focus on a career pivot, outline the steps you need to take to make it happen. You have free will to take your life in the direction you dream of by simply making decisions that align with it. The greatest part is that you can surrender the rest of your year to God and/or partner with Him to align with His perfect will for the second half of 2026. You have the agency to reflect and to choose. Happy mid-year reflecting!
